Charles G. Davis
Executive Vice President of Operations and Administration, MidCountry Financial Corp. and MidCountry Bank
Charles G. Davis joined MidCountry Financial in July 2002. Davis has more than 38 years of business and management experience, with much of his experience coming from a succession of roles he held with First Liberty Bank, including Executive Vice President of Operations and Administration. While at First Liberty, he developed a project management methodology for acquisition mergers/conversions that successfully guided the organization through rapid growth and almost 20 mergers/conversions. Also while at First Liberty, Davis introduced financial and interest rate management and strategic planning, and initiated the strategic expansion of construction lending, which accounted for more than $190 million in loan originations annually. In addition, he managed First Liberty’s successful 1984 stock conversion and IPO, and while under contract with First Liberty and the regulators, Davis served as President and CEO of Phenix Federal (Phenix City, Ala.) and oversaw the clean up of problem loans and lawsuits after regulators closed and reopened the bank. Since joining MidCountry Financial, Davis has successfully guided the company through several bank conversions, mergers, contract negotiations, and other important events.
