Robert F. Hatcher is the President/Chief Executive Officer and Director of MidCountry Financial Corp. Hatcher was the President of First Liberty Bank from 1988 to 1990, and President and Chief Executive Officer of that bank and its parent, First Liberty Financial Corp., from 1990 until its merger with BB&T in 2000. Prior to joining First Liberty, Hatcher worked for 27 years in various positions with Trust Company Bank (now SunTrust). Throughout his career, Hatcher has been extensively involved in numerous civic organizations. He was appointed by the governor as Co-Chairman of the Commission for a New Georgia, and is a member and past Chairman for the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia. Additionally, he sits on the boards of Mercer University, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the Georgia Public Policy Foundation and the U.S. Ski Team Foundation. He is an honorary Lifetime Member of the Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce, which named him its 2005 Citizen of the Year.
